Who We Are SangamamUK!

Sangamam UK is a platform to bring like-minded Tamil Hindus together with a goal to nurture the Hinduness among the Tamil Hindu community in UK to preserve Tamil Hindu culture and promote/inculcate Tamil Values to our next generation. Sangamam in Tamil means Assembly or Confluence and as the name suggests this organisation aims to be the confluence of Tamils in the UK. The rich Tamil tradition and culture should be carried forward inspite of us living away from our homeland and we must impart these precious gifts to our next generation and hence we have need a platform like Sangamam UK.

United Kingdom has approximately around 250000 Tamils living across the nation and providing vital contribution to its economy and are a prime example for its plural nature. This Tamil population migrated from various countries such as India, Srilanka and Malaysia True to our nature we Tamils preserve our identity & culture even when we are away from our roots, Homeland. We inculcate our dharma and values to our next generation and strive to work towards preserving our dharma and culture. Sangamam UK’s motto is the same - to preserve, protect and promote our Dharma and culture for the benefit of our future generations.

Sangamam UK came into existence 2018 and we have been conducting service camps, training sessions for the community. During the COVID Pandemic. Sangamam UK team took the lead and conducted various Webinars including the Q&A with Tamil Doctors in the UK to explain about COVID and precautions to be taken by general public in Tamil. Sangamam UK also celebrated the centenary year of death anniversary of Mahakavi Subramanya Barathiyar , Saint Thiruvalluvar’s reference of Sanatana Dharma in his Thirukural etc.
